Language Differences

Similar to what
has been posted about earlier regarding what fizzy drinks are called,
Colleen Mullin has posted a number of maps of the United States asking participants to indicate what words they would use in a specific sentence. The results are sparse but interesting: there seems to be a definite regional breakdown in the United States (south - northeast / midwest / west). These maps tend to be more successful with larger amounts of data.
Thanks Matt.
