The
East Valley Tribune carried a story a few days ago about a cartographer creating a new world map showing the relative sizes of countries in a
cartogram. Nothing unusual for cartographers but for many its seems to present a new and fresh perspective on the world. According to the news story, Madagascar is “a tiny island.” That would mean that
all but 3 of the world’s islands can be considered “tiny” (if land mass is used as the determining factor).
ODT.com sells the map and other “alternative” ways of viewing the world.
