is “a new international journal on sciences and technologies affined to history of cartography and maps.” What that awkwardly phrased byline means to say is that this new journal focuses on harnessing new technologies for the purpose of furthering the study of the history of cartography. The quarterly journal has so far published one issue, available, appropriately, online
in html or pdf format. Papers in the first issue cover such topics as georeferencing of early maps
and assigning map projections to portolan maps
. The editorial board appears to come mostly from Italy and Greece. The journal is available only in English though English is not the primary language of many of the editors and contributors (to date, at least).
