accurately Jonathan de Ferranti) has filled in the cell with a value using other available sources. Plans are afoot to complete all the SRTM tiles in this manner - a multiyear project - but most of the world’s major mountain ranges are planned for completion this spring.The panoramas available on the site
are computer generated and some have a on the ground photograph to compare to (see the examples on the right).
