Google released its latest mapping incarnation last week with Google Earth. For those of you already familiar with Google Maps
, Google Earth
will come as now surprise. It is essentially a rotatable, zoomable and tiltable globe of the earth composed of satellite images, similar to World Wind
, reviewed earlier in this blog
. Compared to World Wind, however, the controls are easier to use and more intuitive. The basic version of Google Earth is free to download.
